Girls’ Generation Ended Their First Solo Concert in Thailand with Great Success!
Girls’ Generation ended their Asia Tour with great success by drawing the highest number of people in the history of Korean girl groups’ concerts.
Since May 31st last year, Girls’ Generation had held 14 concerts in 6 Japanese cities (Osaka, Saitama, Tokyo, Hiroshima, Nagoya and Fukuoka) for their ‘Arena Tour’ and also 9 concerts for the ‘Girls’ Generation Tour’ in 5 cities (Seoul, Taipei, Singapore, Hong Kong and Bangkok). The total of 23 concerts in 11 cities drew 230,000 audiences.
Especially, the tour drew the highest number of people in the history of Korean girl groups’ concerts and it’s extremely unusual that a girl group holds this large-scaled solo concert.
The concert was held at IMPACT Arena in Bangkok on the 12th from 6:00 p.m. and fascinated audiences totaling 11,000 people with the fantastic performances of 32 songs including hit songs (‘Gee,’ ‘Genie,’ ‘HOOT,’ etc.), each member’s unit stages and ‘The Boys.’
Also, the audience waved their pink light sticks, sang along the song and cheered in Korean throughout the concert. During the performance of ‘COMPLETE,’ fans were holding up papers saying ‘FINALLY, WE MEET’ and flew paper airplanes.
Moreover, since it was Girls’ Generation’s first solo concert in Thailand, Girls’ Generation was enthusiastically welcomed from many fans, who had gathered at the airport. Also, many local media such as True Music, TNN, etc. attended the press conference which was held before the concert began.
After the concert, Girls’ Generation said, “We are happy because we could feel fans’ love and it was a precious moment we’ll never forget. We thank all those who have been with ‘GIRLS’ GENERATION TOUR’ and we will try our best to meet again with better performance.”
Meanwhile, Girls’ Generation, who ended their Asia Tour with great success, returned to Korea in the morning of the 13th.
